| ABOUT The 2008 Youth Excellence Camp is an opportunity for teams to learn from English Premier League Sunderland F.C. Youth Academy coaches. |
| |
| WHO IS SUNDERLAND FC? Sunderland FC is a professional team in England competing in the English Premier League. The team has a youth academy to prepare players for professional play and must conform to the strict guidelines of the English F.A., the governing body of soccer in England. The curriculum, standards and coaches are of the highest standard in the world. |
| |
OPPORTUNITY PSA has arranged to have Sunderland FC Youth Academy coaches Wayne Walls and Ian Dipper instruct our players at the 2008 YEC. Your child and team will have access to the Sunderland FC Youth Academy curriculum, experience the same exercises as used at Sunderland FC and be prepared for a successful fall season.
INSTRUCTION Both Ian and Wayne are employed full-time at Sunderland FC; their main responsibility is to ensure players are enjoying themselves while learning the tactical, technical, psychological and fitness |
|
aspects of the game needed to become a professional player.
Also on hand will be US COE UK Co-Directors Andy Grant and Les Shaw. Andy has worked extensively in elite youth soccer at Chelsea, Sunderland and Hartlepool Academies. He has conducted match analysis on successful team performance for the English FA. Les is the Hartlepool FC Youth Recruitment Officer and an English FC Coach Educator.
COACH EDUCATION The PSA coaching staff is encouraged to attend their team's camp in order to receive a level ofcoaching education that would otherwise be unavailable to them. Each coach will be able to provide the YEC staff with an evaluation of their team and a list of topics your coach would like to be covered at the camp.
On Friday, the YEC staff will conduct a two hour coaching clinic for the PSA coaches. The clinic will focus on match performance and evaluation as well as preparation for training sessions. Each coach will receive a written evaluation of their team. |
